Product Description
No larger than a pencil, this is the handheld USB microscope that magnifies small objects such as stamps, coins, or serial numbers, displaying them on a computer screen. Its 7mm optics provide 10X – 200X magnification; a built-in LED illuminates your subject while its manual focus allows you to sharpen the image. For power, it plugs into a computer running Windows 7, Vista, or XP, displaying your subject on the screen using either still pictures or video captured at 640 x 480 pixel resolution. Includes software.

The microscope wand is difficult to use at its highest magnifying power because the tripod that is furnished (and should hold it in position) does not do the job. Because the design of the tripod calls for the microscope wand simply to be layed in the large non-adjustable clamp, it is not possible to move the object to be viewed in and out of magnification settings and maintain a steady position for the floppy wand. A tripod with an adjustable clamp that would enable the wand to be lowered/raised but stay in position over the object to be viewed would correct this faulty design. For my purpose, the wand is useless.
