Product Description
Finally, an easy solution for sharing USB devices. Now you can share USB devices between two computers without all that plugging and unplugging. Simply push a button and the ShareCentral(TM) 1 automatically makes the swap. With the Kensington ShareCentral(TM) 1, two computers can share a printer, hard drive, scannerâ¿¿any USB deviceâ¿¿and switch between them with the touch of a button. It reduces cable clutter, too! No software required for basic features.

I purchased both this 2-1 port and the 4-1 port Sharecentrals and have used them in the office and at home to share USB printers between desktops and laptops. Both worked great and required no power besides that supplied by USB.
I do know that computers vary widely in the amount of power their USB ports provide…so just like ANY USB hub, you may have to add power depending on your computer and your peripheral. If you need a power adapter..it is a standard 5 volt available at any radio shack (and free in that box of old AC adapters most folks have in their basements).
Cheap compared to the competition, and I like the button labels it comes with to identify which computer or peripheral each button connects to.

Never worked at all! It never received any power from the USB ports nor could Windows ever see it. It has a power plug on the back but it does not come with a power plug.
